- CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCEMENT

Up to 1 million people in the UK are
trapped on long term benzodiazepine
prescriptions due to involuntary addiction.
- Benzodiazepines are still being prescribed despite a volume of
Critical literature and thousands of tragic accounts
- Official guidelines recommend a
maximum use of two to four weeks, but long-term prescriptions
continue to be issued.
- As addictive as heroin, benzodiazepines are
still a class 'c' drug

CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES
- The Home Office to reschedule benzodiazepines and
reclassify them as class'A'drugs (like heroin, cocaine etc.)
- Secure national funding for specialist treatment and support for
those injured by benzodiazepines
- Establish appropriate training for health professionals
- Instigate a full public inquiry
- Ensure financial compensation
- Secure funding for research into long term
problems caused by benzodiazepines
